John Kirkwood

John’s long and distinguished career spans nearly four decades across both the public and private sectors. He began as a police officer in Lincoln, Neb., before joining the U.S. Secret Service, where he served as Special Agent in Charge, and later as Chief Deputy Sheriff at the Ramsey County (Minn.) Sheriff’s Office.

 

Most recently, John served as Director of Global Security for Land O’Lakes, a Fortune 200 company based in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro, where he led worldwide security operations until his retirement.

 

Throughout his career, John developed deep expertise in executive and corporate security, fraud prevention, internal and external investigations, threat response, and corporate security design. His ability to build comprehensive security programs that effectively detect, deter, and defend against threats has made him one of the nation’s most respected security leaders.

 

John continues to contribute to the field as an advisor and serves on the boards of the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Foundation and the Ramsey County Sheriffs Foundation. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science from the University of Nebraska – Kearney and is a graduate of the Kellogg School of Management Senior Executive Leadership Program.
